An Overview of SKINVIVE – Get to Know the Glow
SKINVIVE is part of the JUVÉDERM® filler family, which is produced by Allergan Aesthetics. It is the first and only intradermal microdroplet injectable on that market that is indicated to improve skin smoothness of your cheeks and hydrate your skin from within.
Hyaluronic acid (HA) may sound familiar to you, as it is a key ingredient in many moisturizing skin care products because of its properties that retain moisture and smoothness. This water-attracting molecule is also found in your skin, but decreases with age and sun exposure. The modified HA in SKINVIVE naturally boosts your skin’s internal hydration, leaving you glowing and looking refreshed.
During the treatment, Dr. Sikorski or one of our physician associates, Renee or Polly, will inject microdroplets of SKINVIVE into the epidermis (outer layer of skin) of each cheek, rather than into the dermis (middle layer). This only changes the texture and appearance of your cheeks, rather than filling in volume loss and changing shape.
What Are the Benefits?
There are a number of benefits that come with getting treated with SKINVIVE.
Treatment Time & Comfort – One treatment session only takes around 15 minutes. SKINVIVE contains lidocaine, a common pain reliever, to keep you comfortable during the quick treatment.
Downtime – There is minimal downtime required with SKINVIVE, especially compared to other skin quality treatment downtime. It is recommended to minimize strenuous exercise, long exposure to sun or heat, and alcoholic beverages for the first 24 hours after treatment.
Results – Clinical studies showed that patients experienced cheek skin smoothness consistently through six months. They also reported feeling satisfied with how healthy, hydrated, refreshed, and glowing their skin looked during this time. An optional treatment may be needed to achieve desired results.
Who Is a Candidate?
SKINVIVE is approved for use for adults over the age of 21, as well as for all skin types and tones. It is a great option for anyone noticing dullness in their skin, looking to increase hydration to improve their skin quality, or looking to improve cheek smoothness.
