What is Ellacor?

Ellacor is the first and only FDA-cleared procedure to remove excess skin without undergoing surgery. This micro-coring procedure is intended to improve the appearance of wrinkles in the mid to lower face and neck without the evidence of scarring. How Does Ellacor Work?

Dr. Sikorski or a PA-C will begin the treatment by numbing your skin to make sure you are comfortable. Ellacor is then administered with a handheld device that uses tiny needles to remove micro-cores of skin. After the procedure, the body’s natural healing response goes into effect, which improves the quality and tightens the skin.

In Dr. Sikorski’s opinion, one treatment of Ellacor on the neck works better for skin laxity than Morpheus and Genius RF micro needling treatments. Ellacor is the only treatment that improves and effaces the nasolabial folds (the deep groove under the nose). It improves skin quality by stimulating collagen.

The entire procedure is typically finished in less than 45 minutes.

Who Is an Ideal Candidate?

Ellacor is for adults aged 22 or older with Fitzpatrick skin types I-IV. The treatment can be done on the face or neck for patients who are experiencing signs of aging and skin laxity.

How Long Does It Take to Heal from Ellacor?

Healing typically takes between 3 to 7 days. You should refrain from wearing makeup for the first few days but may start wearing it again around 5 to 7 days post-treatment.

It is normal to notice pink dots on your skin after the procedure. These pink dots fade on their own after 2 weeks on the neck and after 2 weeks or more on the face. Bruising may occur from the numbing; therefore, it is important to stop taking any blood thinners, fish oil (omega 3), and NSAIDS such as Advil and Aleve 3 weeks before your treatment to reduce the risk of bruising.

Most patients choose to do 1 to 2 treatments to achieve their desired results.
