Your Initial Consultation for VOLUMA

Patients begin with an appointment at Natural Image OC. You will find that our practice offers a warm and welcoming professional environment staffed by a knowledgeable and engaging team. During your visit, you will meet with Dr. Sikorski to discuss:

  • What you’d like to achieve with treatment.
  • The specific features you want to address.
  • The motivations behind your decision to receive aesthetic care.

The extensive time and personalized attention she brings to the patient consultation is one of the factors that distinguish her work. Dr. Sikorski will look beyond prescribing treatments and procedures and collaboratively decide with you what a successful outcome looks like, both immediately after care and for months or years to come.

If you are a good candidate for VOLUMA, Dr. Sikorski will recommend areas in and around the cheeks to target with treatment. She will also answer any questions you have and advise you about aftercare.

Receiving Treatment

In many cases, patients can receive VOLUMA immediately following their initial consultation. Here is an overview of what to expect:

Making you comfortable. Our practice can provide a variety of measures that reduce sensitivity. For most patients, we will apply numbing cream to the area of treatment, which will take about one-half hour to go into effect and which can significantly improve comfort. Ice can also work to block sensation. If you are particularly anxious about treatment, we encourage you to talk to Dr. Sikorski about other measures, including sedation. Our priorities are your comfort and safety.

Injecting VOLUMA. Like most facial fillers, VOLUMA is an injectable product. Dr. Sikorski will use an extremely small-gauge needle to deliver VOLUMA in targeted areas in and around your cheeks. This will give her fine-level control and allow her to create more natural-looking results. Dr. Sikorski may also dilute the concentration of VOLUMA with anesthetic for your comfort.

Concluding treatment. While some cosmetic treatments require that you take time off for a few days, VOLUMA allows you to return to your regular schedule immediately. Our practice will notify you of any aftercare instructions. The most common side effects of VOLUMA—such as tenderness, bruising, or swelling—are moderate. Once they have faded, your cheeks should look smoother, firmer, and more youthfully full.
